SEMICON Southeast Asia 2025, the region’s flagship global semiconductor and electronics manufacturing supply chain, marked its 30th anniversary with a milestone edition held at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, from May 20 to 22, 2025.
Organised by SEMI (Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International) Southeast Asia, the event came at a pivotal time for the semiconductor industry as artificial intelligence, supply chain realignment and geopolitical developments continued to reshape the global landscape.
The three-day gathering provided a platform for industry leaders, policymakers, researchers, academia, and technology providers to exchange ideas, forge partnerships and explore solutions to shared business challenges, reinforcing South-east Asia’s growing role in the global semiconductor ecosystem.
Event highlights
The 30th anniversary edition concluded with more than 26,000 attendees from over 50 countries, including global CEOs, C-suite executives, industry leaders, decision-makers, summit delegates, exhibitors and speakers.
The event officially opened on May 20 with a ceremony graced by Guest of Honour Tan See Leng, minister for manpower and second minister for trade and industry (Editor’s note: Tan held this title at the time of the event, but his title has since been changed to minister for manpower and minister-in-charge of energy and science & technology).
More than 700 exhibiting companies showcased innovations spanning semiconductor manufacturing, smart manufacturing, AI, advanced packaging and sustainable technologies, with an extensive programme of executive summits, technical forums, workforce initiatives and business networking sessions fostered collaboration across the semiconductor value chain.
By bringing together stakeholders from across the semiconductor ecosystem, SEMICON Southeast Asia 2025 reinforced the industry’s collective efforts to navigate global headwinds and accelerate the next phase of growth and technological advancement.
Challenges
The challenge for SEMICON Southeast Asia 2025 was to demonstrate how a business event can create value beyond a traditional trade exhibition.
With the semiconductor industry navigating rapid technological advances, evolving supply chains and increasing demand for skilled talent, delegates were looking for practical insights, strategic discussions and meaningful business connections alongside technology showcases.
To meet these expectations, the organiser curated a programme that integrated leadership summits, technical forums, workforce development initiatives, exclusive business matching and networking events with the exhibition. This enabled policymakers, business leaders, researchers and young professionals to exchange ideas, explore emerging trends and foster partnerships across the semiconductor value chain.
