Tourism New Zealand’s business events manager, Leonie Ashford, has been elected to the ICCA Board of Directors’ Asia Pacific seat at the 63rd ICCA congress.
“I am honoured and excited to be appointed to the board,” said Ashford. “I can see so many opportunities for further growth for New Zealand and the wider Asia-Pacific region through collaboration. I’m committed to doing my best to help that happen.”

“As the leading association for conferences and conventions globally, representation at ICCA builds New Zealand’s business events profile internationally and will open new opportunities for development and collaboration,” Tourism New Zealand global manager business events, Penelope Ryan, added.
The business events sector was worth NZ$403 million (US$244 million) to New Zealand in 2023 and the country is on track to achieve 90 international conference bids worth more than NZ$140million in FY25, its most ambitious target to date.
