Global Association of Events and Hospitality Professionals launches in India

GAEHP formation in New Delhi

The Global Association of Events and Hospitality Professionals (GAEHP) was officially formed in New Delhi recently.

The association, which already has a membership base of 100, is looking to position itself as a unified platform dedicated to fostering collaboration among event planners, travel agents, and hoteliers, as well as other industry verticals.

“We have formed two state chapters in Haryana and Punjab, and are expecting to grow our membership base by more than 200 by the end of the current financial year,” said Rajesh Arya, president, GAEHP. He further shared that two more chapters will be opened in Rajasthan and Kerala.

As criteria, companies looking to be members of GAEHP have to be in the business for at least five years.

The membership is open to industry professionals, and Arya shared that “new members have to be introduced by two existing members”, with the exception of those who are approved by the Ministry of Tourism.

GAEHP also has a professional membership option where individuals can join by demonstrating their professional involvement within the industry, regardless of their company’s affiliation. This category eliminates the need for company documentation or No Objection Certificates, and membership can be secured with an experience certificate or a salary slip, shared Pranav Bansal, general secretary, GAEHP.

“Students who have enrolled in a related industry course are also welcome to join as members, as this will offer them exposure and a platform for them to make connections in the sector,” Bansal added.

For now, the association will prioritise training programmes designed to equip members with the skills necessary to navigate the evolving business landscape, leveraging social media platforms and artificial intelligence.
