Oman targets international associations with dedicated event in December

The Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre (OCEC) and ICCA World have signed an agreement – on the sidelines of IMEX Frankfurt 2025 – to host an exclusive Association Day in Oman.

The event will welcome 10 international associations interested in holding their conferences and meetings in the Sultanate.

Scheduled for December 2025, the three-day event will be co-organised by ICCA World and OCEC, and bring together top-level association representatives to engage with key stakeholders in Oman’s business events sector, including the Oman Convention Bureau, local associations, tourism partners, and industry influencers.

A similar initiative held in 2023 provided associations from the energy, aquaculture and cyber security sectors with a unique opportunity to explore Oman as a viable and attractive destination for hosting international conferences, exhibitions, and meetings.

While the business events sector is a focused area within Oman’s national tourism strategy, its impact extends far beyond tourism, delivering substantial economic benefits, particularly for the hospitality industry and SMEs.

Past events, such as the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology World Congress – held in partnership with The Omani Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology – brought together over 2,142 accredited doctors and medical specialists from 88 countries, including Omani specialists, generating significant benefits for Oman’s scientific and medical sector.

In the coming months, OCEC is set to host a series of events in partnership with local associations including the Middle East Investor Relations Association Conference, 18th Arab Steel Summit & International Iron and Steel Exhibition and ICANN Annual General Meeting further reinforcing Oman’s appeal as a hub for international business events.
