Wellington, New Zealand, will host the ICCA Business Workshop – International Destination Marketing Sector, from February 12-14, 2026.

ICCA Business Workshops offer an informal and dedicated platform for associations and meeting suppliers to interact, with attendance capped at 30 persons (15 ICCA members and 15 accompanying association executives).

The workshop will involve a rotation of one-to-one business meetings where all senior-level association executives will meet with each of the international destination representatives to discuss their specific meeting requirements.

Business Events Wellington’s manager, Irette Ferreira, said: “ICCA hosts this event all over the world; it has never been in New Zealand, so we bid for it and were thrilled when ICCA awarded it to us.

“By hosting the workshop in Wellington, we not only get to meet international association executives in one-to-one business meetings, learn about their conferences and the opportunities to host them in Wellington; we also get to showcase our destination.”

Ferreira hopes that bureaus from the Asia-Pacific region will join the workshop after AIME (the Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event, taking place in Melbourne on February 9-11, 2026).

ICCA’s CEO Senthil Gopinath said: “It’s incredible for ICCA to bring our Business Workshop to New Zealand for the first time. We’re excited to experience first-hand the opportunities for association conferences in the region, and we look forward to continuing to develop relationships with organisations in Wellington and beyond.”
