Kigali, Rwanda will host ICCA Congress 2027

The International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) has selected Kigali, Rwanda, and Muscat, Oman, as the host destinations for its 2027 and 2028 global congresses.

The 66th ICCA Congress is scheduled for October 24-27, 2027, at the Kigali Convention Centre. The event marks the first time in 20 years that the organisation’s flagship meeting will be held on the African continent.

Rwanda Convention Bureau’s CEO Janet Karemera noted that the selection highlights Africa’s growing prominence in the international business events industry, and will focus on regional capacity building and growth strategies.

In the following year, the 67th ICCA Congress will be held in Muscat from November 12-15, 2028. Positioned as a hub connecting Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, the Oman event will prioritise cross-regional cooperation and community development within the global meetings market.

“Both destinations exemplify the ambition and commitment to excellence that define the global business events community,” said Senthil Gopinath, CEO of ICCA.

The annual congress serves as the primary gathering for ICCA’s global membership, focusing on industry transformation, business networking, and professional development. The selection of Rwanda and Oman aligns with the association’s mandate to expand its reach into emerging markets and establish long-term regional legacies.
