ICCA Congress 2020 in Kaohsiung to proceed as planned

ICCA president James Rees has announced that planning for this year’s annual congress in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, will proceed as planned, and will be adapted to become the first hybrid ICCA Congress in its history.

Scheduled to be held from November 1-4 this year, this decision was made after consulting with the ICCA Board and CEO, as well as the host committee and city stakeholders in Kaohsiung.

Rees shared that the situation is very positive, and authorities have been working hard to contain Covid-19 with a great deal of success. As a result, they hope to be able to welcome visitors to congresses and business events by November.

However, Rees points out that physical attendance will be reliant on the conditions and travel restrictions.

To allow maximum possible participation in the circumstances, ICCA will link this main event, virtually, to other member gatherings across the globe over the same dateline to allow for sharing of experiences and learning across our regions and sectors and use the assembled knowledge to help plan our future pathway.
