Burke: excited about the opportunities ahead and remain dedicated to driving Malaysia’s growth through business events

Leading the 2025 calendar is the International Petroleum Technology Conference, returning to Malaysia from February 18-20 after an 11-year hiatus. Following this is the inaugural Malaysian hosting of the International Vulvovaginal Disease Update on April 25-26. From July 12-19, the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry General Assembly & World Chemistry Congress will spotlight the Centre’s ability to facilitate scientific innovation and sustainable chemistry in a high-tech, sustainability-focused environment.

Closing the year’s key events, the General Assembly of the International Social Security Association – ISSA and World Social Security Forum 2025 will make their Malaysian debut from October 6-10.

Sustainability remains a priority for the Centre. Upgraded meeting rooms with energy-efficient features, sustainable banquet options, and modern, versatile spaces with advanced LED screens ensure the venue stays ahead of the curve.

The Centre is also committed to reducing its environmental footprint through a focus on resource conservation and community engagement. Aligned with ESG principles, the Centre is building a strong supply chain through partnerships and working towards achieving a 25 per cent reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions under its Net Zero Carbon Emissions pledge.

John Burke, general manager of the Centre, commented: “We are honoured to play a pivotal role in positioning Malaysia as a leading global events destination. The strong partnerships we have built, including with the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau, are central to our success and we are confident that these will advance our efforts further enhancing Kuala Lumpur’s prominence on the international stage.”

Over the past two decades, the Centre has hosted over 21,000 events, welcoming nearly 30 million delegates and contributed RM12.3 billion (US$2.7 billion) in economic impact for Malaysia.
