PCMA and the Strategic Alliance of the National Convention Bureaux of Europe (SANCBE) have announced more details for the second annual Convene 4 Climate (C4C) conference will take place October 16 to 17 in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
Launched in 2024, the event is a global initiative aimed at accelerating sustainable practices within the business events industry and the broader business community. Foundational partners include Destination Canada, Fáilte Ireland, Marina Bay Sands, and United Airlines.

With global temperatures rising and extreme weather events increasing, C4C’s programme will feature curated participants who will explore new ways to design, deliver, and measure events, and will encourage cross-industry collaboration.
Highlights include a fireside chat with United Nations leaders, a presentation on Bosch’s model for embedding sustainability into its operations, and a showcase from the Jimmy Choo Design Academy on using creativity to shape a sustainable future.
According to Sherrif Karamat, PCMA and CEMA president & CEO: “Business events possess a critical platform to accelerate solutions. C4C, created to harness this influence, ensures that meetings and events are not only sustainable in practice but also catalytic in driving systemic climate action.”
A report from the inaugural 2024 C4C conference in Barcelona, which detailed key tactics from challenge workshops, is available for download on the C4C website.
