ICCA has formalised a two-year sustainability partnership, naming EarthCheck as its official sustainability partner, with the goal of embedding best practices, reducing environmental impact, and empowering its global network to take meaningful action toward a low-carbon future.
To kick off the partnership, EarthCheck used its EventCalculator tool to measure the carbon footprint of the 2025 ICCA Congress in Porto, Portugal. These findings will directly inform ICCA’s long-term sustainability roadmap and establish evidence-based targets aligned with the Net Zero Carbon Events initiative.

The partnership will integrate sustainability principles across ICCA’s own operations, major events, training, and communications. Crucially, ICCA members will gain access to EarthCheck’s specialised guidance, tools, and certification support to advance their own sustainability goals and reporting practices.
Both organisations aim to accelerate progress, demonstrating how collective leadership and science-based frameworks can help the sector thrive in a low-carbon, resilient, and sustainable future.
EarthCheck’s CEO Stewart Moore said: “Both ICCA and EarthCheck recognise that sustainability must be measurable, transparent, and actionable. This partnership strengthens the industry’s ability to act with purpose. ICCA connects a vast global community, and EarthCheck brings the metrics and methodology to support credible action.
“Together, we can help destinations and organisers make informed decisions that create real impact.”
