The Annual Symposium for the Hong Kong Electronics & Technology Association, held in Shatin at end of August, used the technology on iPad to check in 300 delegates and printed name badges on-site with zkipster’s printing add-on.

AAMA Pearl River Delta Chapter used zkipster for its quarterly cocktail reception, enabling the organiser to identify guests and members within seconds at the door and print name labels upon check-in.

Smart Reg System adds a human touch to onsite registration with its team of frontline personnel

Company: Conference Online

Conference Online solutions were used at the Science on the Swan Conference 2015

Expertise: Operating since 2002, Conference Online is an Australian company based on the Gold Coast, and claims to have been the first Australian web-based portal to be developed, providing the full gamut of conference management technologies.

Its registration platform allows delegates to register for the conference as well as book flights, accommodation, social functions, tours and more. The Abstracts Online and Memberships Online facilities are bonuses. Abstracts Online manages and automates the collection, distribution, reviewing and scoring of documents, while Memberships Online simplifies the manual management process.

The solutions are being upgraded over the next six months, which upon completion, founding director Val Sanders said will make “conference management even simpler for the delegate and the organiser and include all the bells and whistles”.

The Association of Australian Cotton Scientists Research Association used Conference Online for registration and name badges for 239 delegates at its conference in September 2015.

The Australian Archaeological Association has opted for full conference management of its annual conference for 500 pax since 2013.

The Early Childhood Teachers’ Association engages Cvent for its annual conferences in Brisbane

Expertise: Cvent offers the full kit and caboodle when it comes to conference management technologies, all at the click of a button. Describing their offering as a ‘software-as-a-service technology solution’, Cvent’s Event Management Platform provides online tools to facilitate the entire event lifecycle.

To get planners started, there’s the Cvent Supplier Network which has a database of 200,000 hotels, suppliers and destinations worldwide. Creating an eRFP for multiple venues is free. A search of Melbourne alone retrieved 319 results.

Once planners have their destination and venue sorted, there’s a budgeting tool and an online registration system, complete with secure payment. To increase attendance and for assistance during the event, the Platform provides email marketing and white label websites, as well as SocialWalls and mobile apps through CrowdCompass by Cvent. And to track post-event success, there are reporting tools and electronic feedback surveys.

The Australian Trucking Association has been a Cvent customer since 2011 and uses the Event Management Platform for two of its large annual events, along with a few smaller ones throughout the year. The association also recently trialed a CrowdCompass by Cvent mobile app for one of its major events.

The Early Childhood Teachers’ Association hosts a marquee conference each year in Brisbane for 600 delegates, which uses Cvent to manage delegates, exhibitors and presenters.

The Victorian Healthcare Association has used Cvent since 2013 for a number of different meetings and events throughout the year, including its annual conference, two regional forums, breakfast seminars, membership roundtables, and webinars.
