Slated to be held at Bayview Beach Resort in Batu Ferringhi, Georgetown, both events are expected to attract 1,500 nurses from across the country.

Previously held in Malacca and Terengganu, the event will involve discussions on ways to enable and motivate Malaysian nurses, as well as new ways of care, said Yeoh Soon Hin, Penang state’s executive councillor for tourism, arts, culture and heritage.

According to Ashwin Gunasekaran, CEO, Penang Convention and Exhibition Bureau, the MNA’s decision to hold the two events in Penang is testament to its status as a “global medical tourism hub”.

The state, which hosted 318 medical science events in 2019, will continue to attract medical-related conferences and business events, said Gunasekaran.

Formed in 1951, MNA currently comprises of 60,000 registered nurses in Malaysia.
