The Rwanda Convention Bureau (RCB) has officially rejoined the International Association of Professional Congress Organisers (IAPCO) as a Destination Partner.
By reconnecting with IAPCO’s network of accredited Professional Congress Organisers (PCOs), Rwanda aims to enhance its international bidding competitiveness and leverage the association’s global reach to attract high-value congresses.

This partnership arrives as Rwanda continues its ascent in the sector, currently ranking as the third-best meetings destination in Africa, with its capital, Kigali, holding the second-place spot for African cities according to 2024 ICCA data.
The collaboration is expected to provide local Rwandan event planners with direct access to global best practices and professional development, ensuring the country meets world-class standards for hosting large-scale events.
Janet Karemera, CEO of the RCB, emphasised: “… This partnership not only strengthens our connections with planners around the world but also opens up meaningful opportunities for our local PCOs and industry stakeholders to grow, learn and share in global best practice.
“Being part of the IAPCO community reflects our commitment to delivering world-class experiences for organisers and delegates, and to strengthen Rwanda’s position within the international business events industry,” said Karemera.
